font-family:Arial;color:black'>SPIRIT OF LEVIATHAN</span></b><span
style=3D'font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:black'><br>
<br>
Job 41 is the key passage on leviathan.&nbsp; <b>Most of the people who have
this powerful spirit never get deliverance because one of his chief jobs is=
 to
block deliverance.</b>&nbsp; Ministers who refuse to open up to the ministr=
y of
deliverance are being controlled by a leviathan spirit.&nbsp; This is their
chief problem.&nbsp; Most of the people who fight the deliverance ministry =
have
powerful leviathan demons, and are therefore rarely delivered.&nbsp; Perhaps
one of the reasons we know so little about this spirit is because we do not=
 get
to tackle him as often as others.<br clear=3Dall>
Strong's Concordance (3882, 3867) defines leviathan as a wreathed animal or=
 a
serpent.&nbsp; He is also called the constellation of the dragon, or <b>Ori=
on.</b>&nbsp;
Within the constellation Orion there are seven stars, each with a name.&nbs=
p;
These names have been found helpful in dislodging leviathan in
deliverance.&nbsp; <span class=3DSpellE>Pleaides</span> and <span class=3DS=
pellE>Articus</span>
are two of these seven stars (demons) tied in with leviathan.&nbsp; Often w=
hen
you manage to force them out, leviathan is also defeated.&nbsp;<br clear=3D=

<p style=3D'margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'><span style=3D'font-size:10.0=
pt;
font-family:Arial;color:black'>Another word for leviathan means to twine, to
unite and to remain. Again we are reminded of his serpentine nature and tha=
t he
is a strongman.&nbsp; A word which occurs six times in the Old Testament co=
mes
from a root word which means to bend or twist.&nbsp; It means literally
wreathed; like a wreath; to be wreathed; gathering itself in folds.&nbsp; T=
he <span
class=3DGramE>context</span> suggests some form of aquatic monster which dw=
ells
in the sea.&nbsp; In the scriptures the sea represents nations of people.&n=
bsp;
The sea is the voice of many waters, or many people, in the book of Revelat=
ion.<br
clear=3Dall style=3D'mso-special-character:line-break'>

<p style=3D'margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'><span style=3D'font-size:10.0=
pt;
font-family:Arial;color:black'>In Psalms 74:14, is a reference to Pharaoh a=
nd
the Exodus, which parallels with another Hebrew word &quot;<span class=3DSp=
ellE>tannon</span>,&quot;
which means a sea or river monster.&nbsp; The word occurs again in Ezekiel
29:3-5 symbolizing Pharaoh and the Egyptians.&nbsp; Oftentimes there is an
Egyptian spirit tied in with leviathan, a spirit of the world and worldline=
ss.<br
clear=3Dall style=3D'mso-special-character:line-break'>

<p style=3D'margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'><span style=3D'font-size:10.0=
pt;
font-family:Arial;color:black'>In Job 3-8 reference is made to a dragon, wh=
ich
according to ancient mythology, was supposed to cause eclipses by wrapping
itself around the sun.&nbsp; Leviathan was considered to be a great mythical
monster, identified with the Babylonian mother goddess, <span class=3DSpell=
E>Timat</span>.&nbsp;
The father of <span class=3DSpellE>Timat</span> was <span class=3DSpellE>Ap=
su</span>,
in the Babylonian creation story.&nbsp; This monster fought with <span
class=3DSpellE>Marduk</span> by reciting charms and casting witchcraft spel=
ls.<br
clear=3Dall style=3D'mso-special-character:line-break'>

<p style=3D'margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'><span style=3D'font-size:10.0=

font-family:Arial;color:black'>In the Word there is a seven-headed monster,
which takes us back to the constellation Orion and its seven stars.&nbsp; T=
he
seven heads are the seven stars and the creature is described as a fleeing
serpent, the tortuous serpents smitten by Baal.<br clear=3Dall style=3D'mso=

<p style=3D'margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'><span style=3D'font-size:10.0=
pt;
font-family:Arial;color:black'>Isaiah 27:1 declares:&nbsp; &quot;In that
day&nbsp;the Lord, with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish
leviathan, the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent (or
tortuous serpent) and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.&quot;&nb=
sp;
There is a dragon in the sea (people or nations) and God is going to slay t=
hat
dragon.<br clear=3Dall style=3D'mso-special-character:line-break'>

<p style=3D'margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'><span style=3D'font-size:10.0=
pt;
font-family:Arial;color:black'>I believe He is already beginning and we are
already there, <span class=3DSpellE>tribulating</span> now.&nbsp; For examp=
le,
there are some things which no longer bother me.&nbsp; I have overcome area=
s in
the sex and drug area, yet out in the world some are still falling like fli=
es
in those traps.&nbsp; Even some Christians are being snared because they are
not getting into deliverance and therefore not being set free.<br clear=3Da=
ll

<p style=3D'margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'><span style=3D'font-size:10.0=

font-family:Arial;color:black'>The noun translated leviathan may also desig=
nate
serpents such as might be roused by snake charming magicians.&nbsp; These m=
en
were also reputed to be able to impose <span class=3DGramE>curses,</span>
therefore snake charming curses are involved here.<br clear=3Dall
style=3D'mso-special-character:line-break'>

<p style=3D'margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'><span style=3D'font-size:10.0=
pt;
font-family:Arial;color:black'>There is another root word, <span class=3DSp=
ellE>Lawa</span>,
in the Hebrew (Strong's 1087) used once in Ecclesiastes 8:15.&nbsp; It refe=
rs
to the joining of an item or a person to someone or something else.&nbsp;
Significantly, we believe that in the Bible this refers to foreigners who j=
oin
God's people as converts, the joining of an alien thing to God's people.<br
clear=3Dall style=3D'mso-special-character:line-break'>

<p style=3D'margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'><span style=3D'font-size:10.0=

font-family:Arial;color:black'>In general, I think it refers to the way in
which hedonistic pleasures stay with a man.&nbsp; In Ecclesiastes 8:15:&nbs=
p;
&quot;Then I commended mirth, because a man hath no better thing under the =
sun,
than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry; for that shall abide with him of
his labor all the days of his life, which God <span class=3DSpellE>giveth</=
span>
him under the sun.&quot;<br clear=3Dall style=3D'mso-special-character:line=

man.&nbsp; Again the reference is to clinging, writhing and twisting.&nbsp;

leviathan with <span class=3DGramE>an</span> hook?&nbsp; Or his tongue with=
 a
cord which thou <span class=3DSpellE>lettest</span> down?&quot;&nbsp; In our
congregation there is a man from a hard background, he was a career army
officer in </span><st1:country-region><st1:place><span style=3D'font-size:1=
0.0pt;
  font-family:Arial;color:black'>Viet Nam</span></st1:place></st1:country-r=
egion><span
style=3D'font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:black'>.&nbsp;&nbsp;When =
he
came home his brains were scrambled.&nbsp; Officials of the Army had judged=
 him
to be a 100% disabled schizophrenic.&nbsp; He appeared on our doorstep one =
day
after hearing our radio program.&nbsp; This began a battle such as I had ne=
ver
seen, and it is not over yet.&nbsp;&nbsp; We have been at it now for about =
six months.<br

report every month to a psychiatrist in order to maintain his disability.&n=
bsp;
After deliverance, he came to me and said he was so much better that he no
longer was schizophrenic.&nbsp; He asked &quot;What am I going to tell them
when I go back for my interview?&quot;&nbsp; I said, &quot;Well, what do th=
ey
want to find out?&quot;&nbsp; He said they just want to know whether or not=
 I
am still crazy.&nbsp; I told him to tell them what had happened to him in
deliverance.&nbsp; It worked, for after that report they were certain he was
crazy.<br clear=3Dall style=3D'mso-special-character:line-break'>

font-family:Arial;color:black'>In his Bible studies he came to the conclusi=

that Behemoth (Job 4) was the will of man.&nbsp; That big sluggish animal is
strong, brassy and very hard to budge. <b>Leviathan represents or burrows i=
nto
the self of man.</b><br clear=3Dall style=3D'mso-special-character:line-bre=
ak'>

ongoing debate between Job and his friends.&nbsp; Finally, God announces th=

He has had enough and demands an answer in chapter 38:4:&nbsp; &quot;Where =

class=3DGramE>was</span> thou when I laid the foundations of this earth?&nb=
sp;
Declare if thou <span class=3DGramE>has</span> understanding.&quot;&nbsp; In
verse 31 He asks, &quot;Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades or
loose the bands of Orion?&quot;<br clear=3Dall style=3D'mso-special-charact=

<p style=3D'margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'><b><span style=3D'font-size:1=
0.0pt;
font-family:Arial;color:black'>Here at the <span class=3DSpellE>clumination=
</span>
of an entire revelation, God gives this righteous man of God an entire
discourse about leviathan.&nbsp; </span></b><span style=3D'font-size:10.0pt;
font-family:Arial;color:black'>Some call him a crocodile or something else,=
 but
he is an evil spirit.&nbsp; There is revelation here and although we do not=
 <span
class=3DSpellE>ahve</span> all of it, we can utilize what we do know.<br

<p style=3D'margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'><span class=3DGramE><b><span
style=3D'font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:black'>When we get down t=
o that
real, true self, we are where leviathan has his stronghold</span></b><span

hing
serpent, seven heads, etc.&nbsp; Although I've never seen him in the Spirit=

must be very ugly.&nbsp; There is a part deep inside where leviathan
dwells.&nbsp; <b>Even after ousting him, there's still self-will which says,
&quot;This as far as I'm willing to go,&quot; and sure enough, if you liste=
n;
that is as far as you will go.</b><br clear=3Dall style=3D'mso-special-char=

leviathan we will remember the battle and will not do it again.&nbsp; That
struggle reminds us of our old self who does not want to reveal things, does

<p style=3D'margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'><b><span style=3D'font-size:1=

font-family:Arial;color:black'>Job 41:15 states that the scales of leviathan
are his pride and are shut up together with a close seal.&nbsp; One is so n=
ear
to another that no air can come between them.&nbsp; In the scripture, air,
breath and wind are <span class=3DSpellE>synomymous</span> with the Holy Sp=
irit.</span></b><span

of
the effects of leviathan's tight coils around them, inhibiting the moving of
the Spirit.&nbsp; They cannot hear or discern the Spirit and they say they
never get a word from the Lord or move in the gifts.&nbsp; The reason is th=
at
no air of the Spirit is able to get in because this demon has such a strang=
le
hold.&nbsp; The scales are joined one to another and cannot be sundered.</s=

a light doth shine and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning or the =
rays
of dawn; out of his mouth goes burning lamps and sparks of fire leap
out.&quot;&nbsp; This brings to mind James' references to how the tongue
kindles a fire.&nbsp; Tongue problems are rooted in leviathan.&nbsp; When he
gets in the church and looses some of that fire, he sets the whole place
ablaze.<br clear=3Dall style=3D'mso-special-character:line-break'>

<p style=3D'margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'><span style=3D'font-size:10.0=
pt;
font-family:Arial;color:black'>&quot;Out of his nostrils <span class=3DSpel=
lE>goeth</span>
smoke as out of a seething pot or cauldron; his breath <span class=3DSpellE=
>kindleth</span>
coals and a flame <span class=3DSpellE>goeth</span> out of his mouth.&quot;=
&nbsp;
This refers to a cutting, critical tongue rooted in a spirit of pride.&nbsp=
; I
see this smoke going out of leviathan's nostrils as false praise and worshi=
p,
like the smoke going up from the incense burning of <span class=3DSpellE>Na=
dab</span>.&nbsp;
Because the person is so bound up with pride, he cannot really praise
God.&nbsp; He is too important, too bound up in himself to give any real pr=
aise
and worship to God.<br clear=3Dall style=3D'mso-special-character:line-brea=
k'>

<p style=3D'margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'><span style=3D'font-size:10.0=

font-family:Arial;color:black'>In verse 22, &quot;In his neck <span
class=3DSpellE>remaineth</span> strength.&quot;&nbsp; The neck reminds you =
of the
will.&nbsp; <span class=3DSpellE>Stiffnecked</span> pride and <span class=
=3DSpellE>stubborness</span>
are with leviathan.&nbsp; Sometimes <span class=3DSpellE>strenghth</span> i=
n the
neck can be a negative thing, because Jesus spoke of the <span class=3DSpel=
lE>stiffnecked</span>
and uncircumcised heart.&nbsp; The bowing of the neck is rebelliousness, wh=
ich
brings us back to pride and sorrow.<br clear=3Dall style=3D'mso-special-cha=

font-family:Arial;color:black'>Dismay goes with stubborn people just as the
flakes or the folds of leviathan's flesh are joined together; firm in
themselves and unable to be moved.&nbsp; These people cannot be told anythi=
ng,
they know it all.&nbsp; Haughtily they speak:&nbsp; &quot;God showed me tha=
t a
Christian can't have a demon.&nbsp; You're in deception, brother.&quot;<br

stone, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone (verse 24).&nbsp; Here, h=
ard
and cold heartedness are tied to leviathan.&nbsp; &quot;When he <span
class=3DGramE>raises</span> up himself, the mighty are afraid:&nbsp; by rea=
son of
breaking they purify themselves.&quot;<br clear=3Dall style=3D'mso-special-=

font-family:Arial;color:black'>In verse 31, he makes the deep to boil like a
pot and there is a verse in Psalms which says &quot;deep <span class=3DSpel=
lE>calleth</span>
unto deep.&quot;&nbsp; This brings us back to self again.&nbsp; The deep is
where the real you <span class=3DGramE>is</span> located.&nbsp; There is a =
deep
in me and I'm very careful about who I let in there.<br clear=3Dall

understanding or hearing the Word of God.&nbsp; Leviathan's most crucial wo=

is in the area of keeping people from receiving the things of God and of the

cigarette spirits, nicotine, tobacco, etc., and expected to get up the next

condemnation of the devil is associated with pride (I Timothy 3:6) and his

where incense made sweet smelling smoke to go up as a type of worship and
prayer&nbsp;to God <b>and as a type of the baptism of the Holy Spirit.</b>&=

There was also a table of <span class=3DSpellE>shewbread</span> to the righ=
t with
twelve loaves of <span class=3DSpellE>shewbread</span>, which were replenis=
hed

cross.&nbsp; This was that veil between the Spirit filled realm and the very

Spirit).&nbsp; He does not want us to move in the Spirit; to have words of
knowledge or any other spiritual gift.&nbsp; He will choke us off with
spiritual deafness and blindness, causing us to be tongue-tied.</b>&nbsp; <=

false tongues.&nbsp; Many are requiring deliverance from false, error filled

been cursed.&nbsp; While I read that scripture one of the brothers in my ch=

woke up.&nbsp; It was as if he had been asleep for five years.&nbsp;&nbsp; =
Five
years earlier, he had become involved in a ministry led by a man in serious
error.&nbsp; Not knowing this, he walked with him for years before finally
realizing the truth.&nbsp; God told him to stay there although the man was
cursing him from the pulpit.&nbsp; Finally, God told him to leave.<br

Paul said he had to learn how to be abased then how to abound.&nbsp; It is =
much
easier to learn how to be abased than how to abound.&nbsp; The downfall of =
many
good preachers has been accomplished by prosperity and the lack of trouble.=

somebody to love me, so I'll set myself a goal, achieve it and say, look at=
 me;

come.&quot;&nbsp; Ego also rises up when we become hyper-self conscious.&nb=

Self awareness leads to intolerance of others because they are not as perfe=
ct
as we are.&nbsp; In comes a critical spirit as <span class=3DSpellE><span
class=3DGramE>satan</span></span> works to load us with demons.&nbsp; We be=
come
frustrated and impatient because everyone is not as we want them to be.&nbs=
p;
It is frustrating for we can not change them to suit ourselves.<br clear=3D=

person is still aware of his own personal flaws and problems, he is
miserable.&nbsp; He sees his problems and cannot solve <span class=3DGramE>=
them,</span>
therefore he begins to project them onto other people.&nbsp; He will talk a=
bout
and accuse others (Proverbs </span><st1:time Minute=3D"10" Hour=3D"13"><span
 style=3D'font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:black'>13:10</span></st1=
:time><span
style=3D'font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial;color:black'>).&nbsp;<br clear=

font-family:Arial;color:black'>Because other people are so messed up, this
justifies his becoming disobedient and anti-submissive or rebellious.&nbsp;=
 That
husband just won't straighten up so she must take over.&nbsp; He will not be
the priest of the house or pray, therefore she must take charge because he =
is
not perfected yet.<br clear=3Dall style=3D'mso-special-character:line-break=

ing
God create him in His image.&nbsp; Ladies, if you try this you are going to
have a monster on your hands.&nbsp; It is better to leave him alone and let=
 God
create him in God's image.&nbsp; Deep inside, the perfectionist believes th=
at
nobody can or should be trusted, not even God, because sometimes even he mi=
sses

font-family:Arial;color:black'>When God does not seem to answer your prayer=

you wonder why He messed up.&nbsp; After all, you had every right to have t=

prayer answered, the Word says so.&nbsp; &quot;Why didn't <span class=3DGra=
mE>You</span>
answer my prayer God?&quot;&nbsp; If you got in your prayer closet and beca=
me
honest, that is what some of you would have to talk about.&nbsp; This stands
between you and everything else and will keep you from getting
deliverance.&nbsp; If you cannot even trust God, who can you trust?<br

and stubborn, caught in a proud snare (Psalms 31:20).&nbsp; Self-deception
deceives, defrauds and misleads a person about himself.&nbsp; Self-seduction
means to tempt, decoy or mislead into something wrong or evil.<br clear=3Da=

seduce ourselves, pride reinforces itself and it becomes a vicious
circle.&nbsp; The afflicted one becomes <span class=3DSpellE>unteachable</s=
pan>,
judgmental and usually seeks to control others with an attitude of
possessiveness.&nbsp; It is a downward spiral for when you become <span
class=3DSpellE>unteachable</span>, you have moved to the place where very l=
ittle
help is available.<br clear=3Dall style=3D'mso-special-character:line-break=

<p style=3D'margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'><b style=3D'mso-bidi-font-wei=

little success with <span class=3DSpellE>unteachable</span> people.&nbsp; T=
he
critical time comes when one's ultimate confidence in God as the object and
source shifts to oneself as the object and source.&nbsp; God must be our so=
urce
and the object of all we want.&nbsp; When such a shift takes place and I be=
come
the source, then I become legalistic:&nbsp; &quot;If I don't do this or
that,&quot; it's not going to be right.<br clear=3Dall style=3D'mso-special=

font-family:Arial;color:black'>Pride makes professions such as:&nbsp;
&quot;It's over; I can't stand it nor I'm only human,&quot; etc.&nbsp; Slog=
ans
we often pick up are loaded with pride as are some religious advertisements=
 and
ballyhoo such as:&nbsp; famous, renowned, apostolic, dynamic, powerful,
international, stupendous, etc.<br clear=3Dall style=3D'mso-special-charact=
er:line-break'>

<p style=3D'margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt'><span style=3D'font-size:10.0=
pt;
font-family:Arial;color:black'>Some of our do <span class=3DSpellE>nots</sp=
an>
and will <span class=3DSpellE>nots</span>:&nbsp; &quot;I don't do that and I
don't do this&quot; can be pride.&nbsp; &quot;Why, God?&quot; Who are you to
ask God why?&nbsp; &quot;I want some private ministry.&nbsp; Can I talk to =
you
alone?&quot;&nbsp; There is pride cropping up again.<br clear=3Dall>
</span>The good news is that Jesus is both the Answer and the Deliverer.&nb=
sp;
We know there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus and we thank the Lord for =
the
spirit of conviction.&nbsp; May we all work diligently to root out all pride
for the destruction of leviathan in the name of <span class=3DGramE>Jesus.<=
