Text Box: the powerful divine providence of God. So delay, hindrances, and obstacles have no effect upon a suddenly, because the presence and power of God overcomes the strongholds and the wiles of the enemies are brought to naught and taken by surprise.
Miracles happen, doors of opportunities and ways of escape will come without notice, because of His love for us. So when you feel cornered by the circumstances of life, cry out to God and continue to ask for His help. And He will open up a way for your deliverance. The prophet Isaiah rebukes Israel by reminding them that when God spoke a word concerning what He was going to do, He did them suddenly. (Isaiah 48:3) He said that he was rebuking them because they were quick to acknowledge everything, even their idols, but they did not acknowledge the awesome workings of God.
It’s important to understand: if it had not been for the Lord on our side where would we be? Look for the Lord. Take confidence in Him: that He is faithful and able to save us from any adversity. And who knows if suddenly, He will do the miraculous, open doors that no man can shut, make ways out of no way, and go before you and make every crooked place straight and every rough place smooth. He’s God and what a mighty God he is! ■
Text Box: other than by His divine intervention?
Upon the day of Pentecost, when the fullness of time had occurred, suddenly the Power and Presence of the Holy Ghost fell upon the people in an upper room. It began as one of the most powerful moves of God. During that experience, lives were impacted by what happened. This sudden sound hallmarked one of the most awesome things that one could dream of, and their spiritual lives were not the same.
In Luke 2:13, Suddenly an entire entourage of heavenly host began to praise and worship at the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who were in the surrounding area could have never anticipated what happened that night, but I am sure it was never forgotten. These are the kinds of things that can occur when the Spirit of God comes upon a situation.
In Mark 9:8, Peter, James and John accompanied Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration, and the apostles experienced one of the most powerful visitations recorded: there appeared Elijah and Moses, and a voice came out of the heavens saying “This is my beloved Son: hear Him.” And suddenly when they looked around they saw no man, only Jesus was there. Wow, what an experience!!!
So when ‘suddenly’ occurs, supernatural things begin to happen, without any notice, which can destroy any anticipated move by the enemy—the enemy is powerless because they were hit blindsided by Text Box: I am also moving in a suddenly season where doors of opportunities, ways of escape, and miracles will come forth quickly and unexpectedly to move you forward from one phase into another. And know that you have not missed your time, for I am redeeming time as my sons and daughters walk circumspectly before me. So watch, look with eyes of expectancy, for I have given you this time in order to set your lives in the right direction. So look up, and don’t be discouraged for your redemption draws nigh. (Word of the Lord May 2009)
This is a paragraph from the Word of the Lord for this month. The Lord talks about time throughout this word, but He talks about time from many different aspects, levels, and dimensions. The definition for the word suddenly is: surprisingly, in a instant, unexpectedly, unforeseen, out of a time, place or cause, unawares. The root of this word means to open the eyes (which implies to be watchful).
In God’s word, the word suddenly deals with various aspects: 1) there are times when God judges a person or situation. 2) there are times when crisis and hardship can come suddenly, and 3) there are times when there are acts of God or divine intervention that affect people or situations that would otherwise be disastrous but then suddenly God shows up.
I want to focus briefly on the third meaning so that we may keep our eyes open in expectancy waiting for God’s divine touch to affect our lives during very pressing experiences.
